lesson 4 makeup - textures w/ cream and powders

Textures with Glitters and Pigments

In our 4th lesson of current trends makeup, we had a cover with Holly and Branka was away, to create a look using pigments and glitter, taking inspiration from Pat Mcgrath or similar artists and looks.
Holly showed us how to use tape under the eye to create a line that we were happy with so the glitter didnt go everywhere and look really messy, but more clean and sharp.
She applied sequins and different colours of glitter to make the look.

I then went away and tried myself. I think i got a bit carried away with this and decided to do a big rainbow on Brittany's face using pigments and glitters, but this looked really silly and not very good so i wasnt pleased with it. I did only have about 20 minutes to do this look as Brittany, who was working on me first, had overrun by quite a bit of time on her look so i only had a little bit of time at the end to try something.

I am going to do this look again to do something better and more in line with the inspiration we were using.

Health and Safety
1. Make sure all brushes, products and equipment are cleaned properly ready to use on the models skin so as not to spread any contraindications or diseases.
2. Make sure the model isn't allergic to any products that I was using before beginning the look so as not to cause and allergic reaction.
3. Make sure my hands are washed and clean before starting the look.
4. Make sure my hair is away from my face.
5. Make sure I dont have any excessive jewellery on that could catch, cut or scratch my model.
6. Make sure all my products are layed out properly and neatly so as not to cause a hazard.
7. Ensure there is nothing on the floor that can be tripped or fallen over and all bags and coats are away.
8. Make sure I am wearing shoes with a closed toe so as if anything is dropped it doesn't cause damage to the toes.
